Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot - TGS 2019 Pre-Order Trailer | PS4 - youtube.com

Bandai Namco has released a new trailer for Dragon Ball Z Kakarot to coincide with Tokyo Game Show 2019. The trailer confirms a January 17 2020 release date and the inclusion of the Buu saga which completes the Z series.

It is great news to see the inclusion of the Buu saga. It has been too often that we have had Dragon Ball games cover the Frieza and Cell sagas yet skip inclusion of the Buu saga - Sagas, and Budokai 1 spring to mind.

We did get a decent trilogy for the GameBoy Advance in the Legacy of Goku series. It turned the series into an action RPG with each game covering one of the major sagas and associated movies.

Though I am happy about this announcement, I am hoping that each saga has received the same love and attention that the Saiyan and Frieza saga’s appear to have. I do worry a bit that this may be too much content for one game to cover.

Are you happy about this announcement or do you think they should have taken more time and done this as a trilogy?

Xenoblade Chronicles and Tokyo Mirage Sessions Getting Remastered for Switch

Among many great announcements and some meh (Pokémon- Curry on Rice?), Nintendo announced that Xenoblade Chronicles, and Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and getting the remaster treatment.

Xenoblade Chronicles was a role-playing game released for the Nintendo Wii. It gained attention because it was part of the Operation Rainfal compaign which was a fan compaign to bring it, The Last Story and Pandora’s Tower to North America, and because of it’s heritage with the accalimed Xeno-series of games. It was a great open world action RPG for its time with massive environments and was eventually ported to the New Nintendo 3DS.

Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE is a role playing game resulting from a crossover of Atlus’ Shin Megami Tensei and Nintendo’s Fire Emblem. It plays similarly to the Persona series with Fire Emblem characters taking the place of the demons. It was different in tone compared to its parent series but a great time regardless.

These are amazing games, and it is great that they will get a new lease on life on the Nintendo Switch. Tokyo Mirage Sessions especially will benefit given the Wii U’s limited audience.

Are you looking forward to playing these amazing RPGs (again?)?

Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot to cover at least up to the end of Cell saga

Bandai Namco has posted the Gamescom 2019 trailer for Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, which highlights the Cell Saga included in the game.

It turns out the Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot game will not just cover the Saiyan and Frieza sagas but the Android and Cell sagas as well. Additionally, Future Trunks will be playable with his signature sword.

It is not yet revealed whether the Buu saga will be included. Hopefully this isn’t another repeat of Sagas which also did not include the Buu saga. Or, if the Buu saga is not included, we get a sequel or DLC with it included.

This game is reminding me more and more of the excellent Legacy of Goku series on the GameBoy Advance which is a good thing.

Mega Man Zero and ZX Legacy Collection Leaked

It appears that a new Mega Man Zero collection has been leaked for PS4 via the Hong Kong PlayStation Store, titled Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection, set to release on January 21, 2020.

Mega Man Zero/ZX Legacy Collection Leaked, Set To Release In January 2020 - siliconera.com

Siliconera is reporting that a legacy collection for Mega Man Zero and the ZX series has been leaked on the Hong Kong PlayStation Store. At the time of writing, the page was still up and I was able to verify the leak myself.

I have been wondering whether the Mega Man spin-off series would receive collections after the success of the original and X collections, and it seem at least the Zero series is going to get that treatment.

I never got to experience the Zero games but I put plenty of hours in the ZX games on the Nintendo DS, and like the original games, it is a great experience.

Here’s hoping if this is successful, we get a Battle Network / Star force collection too. That was the series that really got me into the Mega Man series, after the debut of the NT Warrior anime on Cartoon Network.

Yakuza 3 - 5 Remaster comes West

All three of the recent Yakuza remasters are heading westward. Sega has confirmed The Yakuza Remastered Collection. The individual titles will receive a staggered release throughout the rest of the year, starting with Yakuza 3’s PlayStation 4 debut today.

The Yakuza Remastered Collection Brings Yakuza 3, 4, And 5 Back Throughout 2019 And 2020 - siliconera.com

I having been playing through the Yakuza series in order starting with Yakuza Zero on PC. I recently finished Kiwami and am currently working my way through Yakuza Kiwami 2.

Sega has just announced that they are brining the games that are missing from the current generation west and remastered at that. As of today, Yakuza 3 is available with 4 landing towards the end of the year and 5 early next year.

I was going to skip straight to 4 on PS3 because of the unfortunate pricing of second hand copies of Yakuza 3. I am glad I waited and will now be able to play them at a higher resolution and on current platforms. Look forward to my reviews of each as I play them.

Persona 5 Royal Release Date Set for Spring (Australian Autumn) 2020

Atlus revealed today at the Atlus Art Exhibit 2019 that Persona 5 Royal will be releasing in Spring 2020 in the West.

siliconera.com

This is an excellent game that I am still working on finishing. That’s long enough that I will still finish this playthrough. It’s not nearly as long as the original gap though which is exciting. Autumn 2020 isn’t too far away! PC release, please?

I have a super long playthrough awaiting me in 2020 at this rate. The original game is already pretty big.
